FREDD HAAS: The vast majority of cases that we see in our office are injuries from a car accident. Car accidents can involve minor injuries up to death. The majority of cases do not involve death. They don't even involve serious injury. Most of the cases involve sprains, strains, some broken bones and that type of thing.
In each particular case, the most important thing that we do is we try to figure out how this particular accident affected our client. And, what we have to do, of course, is then get a complete copy of our client's medical records to compare their physical and mental condition before the accident to their physical and mental condition now. They can only recover for the damage caused by the accident. And, they can also recover for an aggravation of any preexisting problem. So, a lot of the time in a car accident case is spent on the medical.
Most accidents, it's pretty easy to figure out whose fault it was. Occasionally, you run into cases that you can't. You then have to hire experts. These experts are commonly referred to as accident reconstruction experts. These are individuals that are involved in the case, trying to determine what was the cause of the case.
